It is not too often, actually, it is extremely often that young thespian idealists find themselves in a group of fellow bright eye-bushy-tailed, vente non-fat caramel macchiato drinking, like minded fellows- all prepared to change the world with theatre as they know it...
...Bailout Theater feels safe to say that it is different. For one thing, not all of us are thespians, for another we might have bright eyes but they are not those of disillusionment, and for a third- those of us who drink coffee are willing to drink it any way it comes and possibly for a cheaper price than five bucks. However, we do want to make a change.
For an art that used to be shunned by all walks of life and deemed sinister, theatre sure is an inflated pastime. Not only is the price for enjoying a "quality" night of performance going to burn a hole in your pocket, those wanting to provide an amazing night of live entertainment for free find it almost impossible to do so without risking their savings.
Bailout Theater is eliminating those issues!
Bailout offers the facilities of Judson Memorial Church, an off-Broadway pastime, as a free experimental theater space for those seeking to have their work produced! In return, we ask the artists to allow the audience to enjoy the night free of charge.
Did I mention an awesome dinner, donated by local village restaurants, is also included in the free coverage?! For FREE?!
How many numbers come after the dollar sign should no longer be indicative of great theatre! Producers concerned with the artists, producers concerned with the audience and producers with passion should be indicative of great theatre!
I understand how this might sound a bit nutty, but no harm can be done by trying to save the integrity of performance art.
Starting today, i will be informing the public on the adventures of Bailout in this here blog! We at Bailout look forward to this long term endeavor and hope you do too!
